DGFT Simplifies Export Factoring Support by Removing UIN Requirement

The Directorate General of Foreign Trade (DGFT) has amended the operational guidelines for export factoring support under the Export Promotion Mission's Niryat Protsahan intervention. The change removes the requirement for exporters to submit a declaration of intent and obtain a separate Unique Identification Number (UIN) before accessing the facility. Exporters will instead be identified through their Importer Exporter Code (IEC).

Export factoring can help businesses obtain funds against export receivables rather than waiting for overseas customers to make payment. The revised framework also clarifies eligible factoring arrangements, documentation responsibilities and timelines for filing claims.

For rubber product exporters, delayed payments from international buyers can place pressure on production financing, raw-material purchases and supplier payments. Easier access to factoring support could help eligible MSMEs manage these cash flow challenges.
