Government Extends RELIEF Scheme for Exporters Until March 2027
|
| |
|

The Government of India has extended the RELIEF (Resilience & Logistics Intervention for Export Facilitation) scheme under the Export Promotion Mission until 31 March 2027. The extension is intended to support exporters facing geopolitical uncertainty and elevated shipping costs.
Under Component II, eligible exporters can access 95% risk coverage through the Export Credit Guarantee Corporation of India (ECGC) for qualifying shipments to specified regions. However, exporters have raised concerns that the extension does not include Component III, leaving some smaller businesses without credit insurance exposed to higher freight costs and war-risk premiums.
The development is relevant to Indian manufacturers of industrial rubber goods seeking overseas markets. Exporters of hoses, conveyor belts, rubber seals, gaskets and other engineered components may face higher logistics costs, which can affect delivery commitments and price competitiveness.
