Natural Rubber Prices Hit Record Rs.285/kg, Increasing Cost Pressure on Manufacturers

Natural rubber prices in India have climbed to a reported record of Rs.285 per kg, raising concerns over input costs for rubber product manufacturers. The price surge is particularly significant for non-tyre segments producing industrial hoses, conveyor belts, seals, gaskets, rubber sheets, footwear and vibration control components. Smaller manufacturers may face greater pressure because they often have limited bargaining power in raw material procurement and operate under fixed price supply contracts. Higher rubber prices can affect production costs, working capital and profit margins, especially where price revisions cannot be passed on immediately to customers. Manufacturers will need to monitor procurement cycles, inventory levels and product pricing closely as the market evolves.
