India Tightens Trade Defence Measures on Key Industrial Inputs
| |

The DGTR has recently initiated or progressed several trade-remedy investigations involving industrial raw materials. These include insoluble sulphur from China, persulphates, PET film and other products relevant to chemical and polymer processing. Insoluble sulphur is particularly important to rubber compounding and vulcanization, making the investigation relevant to non-tyre rubber manufacturers as well as tyre producers. Changes in duties following trade-remedy proceedings can affect domestic availability, import economics and formulation costs. Manufacturers using imported speciality chemicals should therefore monitor DGTR notifications and participate in proceedings where their input costs or supply chains may be affected.
