Exporters Get Extended Support Under RELIEF Scheme Amid West Asia Disruptions
| |

The Department of Commerce has extended the operational timelines under RELIEF - Resilience & Logistics Intervention for Export Facilitation, introduced under the Export Promotion Mission. Component II provides exporters with enhanced protection against risks arising from disruptions along the Gulf and wider West Asia maritime corridor. Eligible exporters can obtain 95% ECGC risk coverage for specified shipments, including FCL, LCL and reefer cargo, excluding energy shipments. The scheme also seeks to prevent insurance premiums from rising beyond pre-disruption levels during the eligible period. The extension is significant for rubber product exporters because higher freight, insurance and logistics costs can directly affect export competitiveness and delivery schedules.
