Terra Rubber Pvt. Ltd., a subsidiary of Tolins Tyres, has commenced construction of a reclaimed rubber manufacturing plant at Palakkad, Kerala. The facility will process scrap tyres and rubber waste through devulcanization to produce reclaimed rubber. The project reflects the growing shift towards circular manufacturing and greater utilization of secondary raw materials in the rubber industry. The plant is also expected to create opportunities around EPR certificates, while reducing dependence on virgin rubber. For India's non-tyre sector, the development highlights the expanding commercial potential of reclaimed rubber in footwear, industrial components, mats, hoses and other applications.
