India's general rubber goods sector shows steady demand despite softer tyre consumption

Recent observations from the Rubber Board indicate that while natural rubber consumption by the tyre sector has moderated slightly, the general rubber goods (GRG) industry continues to register stable demand. Segments such as industrial rubber products, footwear, engineering goods, medical products and consumer applications are maintaining healthy consumption levels, helping offset slower growth in tyre manufacturing.
The continued resilience of the non-tyre rubber industry reflects the diversification of India's rubber manufacturing base and its growing dependence on industrial and infrastructure demand. Analysts believe that steady growth in the GRG segment will continue to support domestic natural rubber consumption and reduce the industry's reliance on a single end-use sector.
