The Corporate Mitra Scheme, announced under the Union Budget 2026-27 by the Ministry of Corporate Affairs, aims to create a nationwide network of trained and certified para-professionals ("Corporate Mitras") to provide affordable professional services to Micro, Small and Medium Enterprises (MSMEs). The programme will initially train 2,000 participants, including 200 from the North-East, with a focus on supporting enterprises in Tier-II and Tier-III cities. Corporate Mitras will assist MSMEs in areas such as regulatory compliance, GST filing, accounting, financial management, cost accounting, company secretarial services, and governance, helping reduce compliance costs and improve ease of doing business. The initiative is being implemented in collaboration with ICAI, ICSI, ICMAI, and IIT Madras, where participants will undergo six months of classroom training followed by six months of on-the-job practical experience before becoming certified Corporate Mitras.
