The government has extended the RoDTEP export incentive scheme by another six months, offering relief to exporters grappling with high freight costs and ongoing maritime disruptions linked to the West Asia crisis. The scheme will now continue till September 30, 2026, according to a notification issued by the Directorate General of Foreign Trade (DGFT) on March 31.
The extension does not alter the existing incentive structure, Rates and value caps remain the same as on March 31, 2026, All eligible export products continue to be covered, and Terms and conditions of the scheme remain unchanged.
This means exporters will continue to receive rebates at current levels without any revision. The DGFT said exports made between April 1 and September 30, 2026, will remain eligible for benefits under the scheme at existing rates and caps. The RoDTEP scheme refunds taxes and duties that are not covered under other mechanisms, helping Indian exporters stay competitive in global markets. The extension provides short-term certainty at a time when exporters are dealing with rising logistics costs and supply chain disruptions.
