All India Rubber Industries Association organized an engaging webinar on the topic "Labour Codes made effective - A pivotal moment for labour reforms in India" with speaker Mr. Paritosh Chauhan, Partner in LKS Attorneys on Wednesday, 10th December 2025.

Mr. Sachin Trivedi, Vice-Chairman, AIRIA Western Region welcomed the speaker.

The speaker discussed the implementation of the new labour codes in India, emphasizing that employers should not rush to make immediate changes but instead take time to understand the requirements. The session highlighted the four labour codes aiming to simplify and modernize India's labour laws, which were previously complex and outdated.

He further explained the key changes in the Wage Code, including the introduction of floor wages set by the central government and revised definitions of appropriate government and employee. He explained, that while some old practices will need to change, such as structuring wages to reduce social security outflows, other concepts like core workers will carry forward.

The discussion also focused on the implementation of new labour codes in India, which have expanded the definition of employers and workers, including gig economy workers and journalists. The key change discussed was the requirement to pay employee benefits on 50% of total remuneration, rather than just basic pay, which will affect take-home pay but is intended to provide better retirement benefits. The meeting also covered the two-day rule for wage payments after employee separation, which will require companies to better plan for potential exits and calculate final settlements more carefully.

Also further the session focused on Social Security Code Expansion and Updates and Labor Law Revisions and Compliance, Industrial Relations Code Overview.
