Noise, vibration and harshness (NVH) systems supplier Vibracoustic has expanded its production capacity in India with the relocation of one of its production units to a new site.
The Vibracoustic Morinda facility, in the northern Indian province of Punjab, has been operational since October last year and currently employs 830 people. The move has resulted in a capacity increase of 40%.
The facility specializes in producing chassis and motor mount NVH components for automotive customers across the region.
The site is equipped with an inhouse testing laboratory and collaborative workspaces, the company added.
The new 'vulcanization facility' in Morinda represents the relocation of the Vibracoustic Mohali molding plant in India, previously situated 17km from the newly established site in Morinda.
In addition to the new site, Vibracoustic operates another production unit in Noida, nearly New Delhi, and a mixing plant in Mohali, Punjab. Overall, the company employs 1,500 people in the country.
