A Cricket tournament was organized by All India Rubber Industry Association (AIRIA) (Northern Region) on 23 February 2025 on the Cricket Ground of Guru Govind Singh College of Commerce, Pitampura, Delhi. Members from Northern Region with their families and friends participated with great enthusiasm. It was a day to cheer the sportsmanship coupled with entertainment and team work.
Dr. CB Singh, Director, Municipal Corporation of Delhi was Chief Guest of the event. He was welcomed by Dr. Shobha Dhawan, Chairperson, AIRIA (NR), Mr. Navneet Gupta, Vice Chairman, AIRIA (NR), Mr. Vipan Mehta, Chief Convener, Mr. Sanjeev Sikka, Convenor and other members of the Management Committee. The event was co-sponsored by Thakkar Dass & Company and Rajshila Synthetics Pvt Ltd.
Four teams, namely Alaska Rubber captained by Mr. Anchit Gupta, MB Rubber Pvt Ltd captained by Mr. Dev Chaudhary, Dawnsun captained by Mr. Kuldeep Singh and AIRIA captained by Mr. Anshum Sarin participated in the tournament. The Chief Guest inaugurated the tournament and was introduced with players of above teams. The first match was played between the teams of AIRIA and Alaska Rubber. AIRIA team won the match.
The second match was played between teams of MB Rubber and Dawnsun. MB Rubber won the match. Thereafter, final match between teams of MB Rubber and AIRIA was played. AIRIA's team won the final by defeating MB Rubber's team by six wickets. Shri AK Bajpai, National Vice President and Chief Spokesperson, Lok Janshakti Party (LJP), the Guest of Honour presented awards to winner and runner-up teams and all the payers. Running commentaries of all matches were also arranged at venue.
The event was organized under the active supervision of Ms. Shobha Dhawan, Chairperson (NR), Mr. Saurabh Malhotra, Vice Chairman, Mr. Navneet Gupta, Vice Chairman, Mr. Nipun Jain, Vice Chairman, Mr. Vipan Mehta, Chief Convenor, Mr. Sanjay Sikka, Convenor, Mr. Ashwini Sarin, Mr. Mukesh Kakkar, Mr. Anay Gupta, Mr. Surinder Paul Gupta and Mr. HK Pahwa. Mr. Mukesh Kakkar coordinated the award distribution ceremony.
