All India Rubber Industries Association-Northern Region had recently organized the 11th edition of its annual National Rubber Conference 2024 (NRC'24) between 26th and 27th July 2024 at Hotel Le Meredian, Janpath, New Delhi. The conference centered around the theme 'Resilient Rubber: Navigating Challenges, Embracing Opportunities'. This dynamic event brought together experts and enthusiasts from the rubber industry and fostered discussions.
The conference commenced with the traditional lamp-lighting and Saraswati Vandana. During the inaugural session Chief Guest Darshak Shah, Managing Director, Madhu Silica Private Limited and Guests of Honours V K Misra, Technical Director, J K Tyre & Industries and Tejbir Singh Anand, Managing Director, ALP Overseas were present.
Mukesh Kakkar, Chairman of AIRIA Northern Region, emphasized the significance of NRCs for industry growth. Ashwani Sarin, Chief Convener of NRC-2024, spoke about the conference theme. Shashi Kumar Singh, President of AIRIA, praised the Northern Region's efforts in organizing this mega event.
In the end, Saurabh Malhotra, Convener, NRC-2024 presented Vote of Thanks for the inaugural session.
Dr. R. Mukhopadhyay, Director R&D, JK Tyre and Industries Limited; Bhavesh Pande, Sector Head, Reliance Industries Limited, Dr. Pooja Goel, Head, QAMA, Maruti Suzuki India Limited; and Dr. Indrajit Ghosh, Global Chairman, MSME CCII, were part of an interesting Panel Discussion on Sustainable Mobility. During this insightful session, they explored the critical role of automobile component manufacturers in addressing challenges and seizing opportunities in the realm of sustainable transportation.
During the felicitation session on the first day, Chief Guest Chandani Singh (IAS, Additional Commissioner, State Tax - GST) addressed delegates on the current state of the rubber industry and government policies. Other honoured guests included Pinki Gupta, Member Judicial, Delhi State Consumer Disputes Redressal Commission; K Jayapal, Managing Director, ISRPL; Vipin Kumar Malhan, President, Noida Entrepreneurs Association; and Jagjeet Singh.
A Networking Gala Dinner allowed guests to interact in a relaxed environment while enjoying delicious food. More than 250 delegates and 59 sponsors participated, expressing satisfaction with the arrangements. On this occasion, all the former Chairmen of AIRIA Northern Region were also honoured. Anshul Sarin effectively oversaw the program during this period.
On this auspicious occasion, Ashwini Sarin received a special memento in recognition of his remarkable 50-year contribution to the Rubber Industry. Along with Dr. Samar Bandyopadhyay received a memento in recognition of his significant contribution to organizing and designing the Technical Papers for NRC 24.
The conference concluded with a valedictory address by Varun Agarwal, Member of the Organizing Committee, NRC'24, AIRIA-Northern Region.
The diligent efforts and teamwork of the NRC'24 Delhi Organizing Committee were also acknowledged, contributing to the event's grand success, and were felicitated by Mukesh Kakkar, Chairman-NR and Ashwani Sarin, Chief Convener, NRC'24 for their whole hearted efforts and team work.
