As a matter of nomenclature to provide engagement outside business, the All India Rubber Industries Association - Southern Region had organized its 7th Annual Sports Meet on January 28, 2024 at Double Dribble Sports Entertainment Private Limited in Chennai. About 30 Members were present at the event.
Mr. Tejas Mutha, Proprietor, Essar Rubbers Convenor of Sports Day, 2024, who is also Regional Committee Member, gave a brief introduction while Mr. Ankit Jain, Chairman of AIRIA-Southern Region welcomed everyone. The game was played following the International Cricket Council rules and regulations. All teams played against each other and each game was limited to four overs a side. The digital scores were broadcasted live using the Stumps app.
The members were divided into four teams such as Butyl Superstars, Natural Knight riders, Silicone Kings, and FKM Lions. The teams were picked on the basis of their cricketing knowledge (Regular/Irregular). The members started assembling around 8 am in the morning and had good practice and fellowship till 9 am before the tournament started.
There were exciting fours, sixes and catches by the members which was cheered upon by the non-playing members and the other team members outside the arena of the ground. In the interval between the games refreshments were served to members. On the whole, a clear sportsmanship coupled with team bonding among the members aptly lit the atmosphere.
After much fun and competitive games among the teams, Natural Knight Riders & Silicone Kings emerged as the top two teams contesting for finals. The exciting final between Silicone Kings, led by Mr. Manmeet Chadda, emerged victorious over Natural Knight Riders led by Mr. Mutha.
The event was followed by a Prize Distribution Ceremony & Lunch at Presidency Club in Chennai. The awards for the best performances were given out. A token of Gift and participation certificates were given to all members present.
