US to carry out sunset reviews for ESBR imports

International Trade Commission to probe rubber imports from Brazil, Mexico, Poland and South Korea.

Washington - The US International Trade Commission (ITC) has voted to conduct a full sunset review of emulsion styrene-butadiene rubber imports from Brazil, South Korea, Mexico and Poland.

The duties were originally imposed in July 2017 following a petition by Lion Elastomers LLC and East-West Copolymers.

In a vote 4 Nov, the commission agreed to conduct a review of the duties, but no dates have been announced for the probe, according to the ITC website.

The initial dumping rates, set in 2017, ranged from 9.66% to 44.3% for a number of rubber suppliers, including Korea's LG Chem and Kumho Petrochemical; Poland's Synthos; Arlanxeo Brasil SA, and Mexico's Negromex SA de CV - Planta Altamira.

Dates for the institution of the review are expected in early 2023.
